Extracta is founded in Muggiò in 1951 from an idea of Mario Alquati. Initially, the production structure is a small laboratory oriented to realization of plant extracts for cosmetic and pharmaceutical industry.
In the following years the use of herbal preparations has a strong growth in the traditional sectors and at the same, we are witnessing the development of two new application areas: the food and the nutraceutical.
The new and growing market demand and the close working relationship with customers, have pushed Extracta to increase its offering and increase its production capacity, so we recently started an expansion plan by investing in a new production site and abandoning the pharmaceutical industry to concentrate production and innovation in the cosmetic, food and nutraceutical industry.

During this long journey Extracta has always excelled for some aspects such as:
- The availability to the study of personalized solutions that led the company to develop its know-how not only in relation to traditional herbal extracts, but also to more sophisticated forms of product.
- The increasing attention given to quality control that works internally through chemical and physical analysis, microbiological analysis, TLC, UV-VIS, HPLC, and externally, in collaboration with certified laboratories and university research institutes, to techniques such as LC- MS.
- The development of the spray-drying technique for the drying of plant extracts but also of flavorings and food coloring, fruit juice, protein lysates and many other substances in food and cosmetic use with the development of specific knowledge in technologically evolved areas as drying emulsions, microincapsulations, taste-masking and controlled-release systems.
In a world that tends to standardize and homologate everything according to standard parameters, valid for any sector or activity level, it becomes difficult to emphasize the value of diversity. We live in an era in which, more and more frequently you fall into the error of evaluating a company based solely on economic and financial parameters, forgetting that the first activity of a company is to give birth to quality products, rich to the actual value provided them by the use for which they were designed.

A company is much more than an organized set of functions, as well as a presentation can not be limited to the banality to slogans like "our mission is customer satisfaction" or "the quality of the production process is controlled at every stage" etc. It 'obvious that this is so. A company is made primarily by people and the decisive factor is the consideration that every person has towards their work.

If the goal of our work is the profit it can be achieved in different ways, including the quality, but not only. If, however, we approach the daily work with the understanding that the value of a person depends on what it produces in terms of ideas and concrete actions, the work becomes the means to be better people, more competent, more passionate and the result of this effort can only consist of a better quality of what we do.

Well, if you were to sum up the commitment of Extracta we should say: "with the heart and with reason." With the heart to evidence the commitment and passion that guide us; with the reason because any enthusiasm, any immediacy must then be screened meticulously in the light of reason. And the reason comes the desire to continually improve the quality of our work.
